Celebrating over 50 years since the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. Professor David Rees will cover many aspects of the mission and explain how its success subsequently paved the way for the even more ambitious space exploration of the past 50 years. The talk will include some rarely seen video footage, as well as some of David’s own memories of the event. This talk will be fascinating for both those too young to remember the event and for those of us around at the time who want to be reminded of this incredible feat of human achievement.

This talk will take place in the Crypt of Rochester Cathedral.

Pre-booking advised. Tickets are available from the Rochester Cathedral Shop and online.

Tickets are priced £6 and include entry to see the Museum of the Moon in the evening.

Doors open at 6.30pm

About the presenter

Prof. Rees is a space scientist who has designed and built instruments for NASA, ESA, JAXA and other space organisations around the world. One of his instruments is currently on board one of the two spacecraft of the BepiColombo Mission. These were launched in October 2018.
