About the presenter

Ian was first introduced to astronomy on Christmas Eve 1965 when, as a young lad, he witnessed a massive shooting star careering across the sky that eventually fell in Barwell, near Coventry. When his parents couldn’t explain it, he just had to find out!

Ian is Chairman of Mid-Kent Astronomical Association (MKAS) and regularly gives entertaining talks. He has his own small observatory and a 11” GOTO telescope that he uses for visual observing and astro-photography from his garden in Medway. You can follow Ian’s Facebook page at IantheAstronomer to keep up to date with upcoming astronomical events.
