'Sounds Celestial' Organ Recital by Francesca Massey

A concert of music inspired by the Sun, Moon and Stars

Francesca Massey will be performing a programme of organ music inspired by the cosmos as part of our series of space themed events. Join us for a unique opportunity to attend a recital under Luke Jerram’s stunning artwork ‘The Museum of the Moon.’

The concert will last 45 minutes. There will be the opportunity to view Museum of the Moon after the concert.

Doors open at 7pm with the concert starting at 7.30pm.

Francesca Massey is Director of Music at Rochester Cathedral and has been in post since September 2019. This is her first organ recital at Rochester Cathedral since starting in the role.

Francesca was educated at Cambridge University and the Royal Northern College of Music. She has held Organ Scholarships at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and Manchester Cathedral, and was Sub-Organist at Durham Cathedral, Assistant Organist at Great St Mary's Church, Cambridge and Assistant Director of Music at Peterborough Cathedral.

Francesca performs regularly as a recitalist throughout the UK. Her two solo recordings (Bravura! and The Forgotten Gem, on the Priory Records label) both received excellent reviews and were Editor’s Choice in Organists’ Review.
