Handmade sandwiches, jacket potatoes, tempting cakes and a gorgeous historic setting make this a unique place to have lunch in Rochester.
Located in our stunning medieval crypt - the Café in the Crypt uses local produce or works with local suppliers wherever possible.
All profits help support Rochester Cathedral.
Food and Drink Offer
The Café in the Crypt offers great food at great prices. Homemade sandwiches with a large variety of fillings. Freshly baked jacket potatoes and other seasonal offers. A delicious range of cakes are there to tempt you.
Hot and cold drinks are available including locally sourced juices.
Location
The Café in the Crypt is located downstairs in the Crypt of Rochester Cathedral. Access is via the Cathedral.
Family Friendly
The Café in the Crypt is wonderful place to come with your family. We have kids portions, lots of space for buggies and space for kids to play. We are breast-feeding friendly and baby-changing facilities are available upstairs in the Cathedral.
Accessibility
Access to the Café is via a short flight of stairs. Level access is available on request. Please speak to a staff member or volunteer when arriving at the Cathedral for more information.
Allergen and Vegan Options
The Café can cater for many allergens and intolerance as our savoury food is prepared to order. Gluten free bread is available for sandwiches and Gluten free cakes are available. Milk alternatives are available on request.
We have some vegan options available but recommend emailing the Cathedral in advance to advise us of your visit.
