Breakfast - 21.05.25 // Sarah Kemsley & HHJ Oliver Saxby KC
/Attendees at the recent Business Guild Breakfast enjoyed a delicious breakfast generously sponsored by Azets, an international advisory group providing accounting, tax, payroll, audit and advisory services to more than 100,000 clients across eight countries. Their blend of specialist expertise, progressive technology and local, trusted support made them a valued sponsor for the morning.
Guests then heard from Sarah Kemsley of Maggie’s, who spoke about the charity’s fundraising efforts to build a new Maggie’s Centre alongside the Kent Oncology Centre at Maidstone Hospital. She shared how Maggie’s offers evidence‑based social, psychological and practical support for people living with cancer, and described the unique architectural approach behind their 24 award‑winning centres—warm, uplifting spaces designed to feel nothing like a hospital, enabling their teams of nurses, psychologists and benefits advisors to provide the best possible care.
HHJ Oliver Saxby KC then offered an insightful overview of the Courts in Kent, explaining their roles, the pressures they face, and the responsibilities of jurors and witnesses—particularly relevant for those in business. He also outlined how County Courts handle business litigation, with a particular focus on Maidstone Crown Court, where he is based.
The morning was greatly enjoyed, combining excellent food with meaningful insights from two exceptional speakers.
