Soft Launch of the Rochester Cathedral Song School - Thursday 1st October 2026

On 1st October 2026, the Music Patron of the Rochester Cathedral Trust, Jools Holland, symbolically removed a brick from the wall of the current Song School, marking the launch of an ambitious project to transform it into a fully functioning centre for music at Rochester Cathedral.

The redeveloped Song School will provide dedicated rehearsal space for the Cathedral Choristers and Choirs, while also serving as a hub for musical activities, outreach work, and the Cathedral’s wider musical aspirations.

In time, the music centre will become an important part of our long-term plans to enhance wellbeing and support mental health within the community through the power of music.

This milestone has been reached thanks to the generosity and encouragement of so many supporters, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks.
