Attendees at the our first Business Guild Breakfast of 2026 enjoyed a delicious breakfast kindly sponsored by Savills, whose continued support of the Guild is greatly appreciated.

The morning’s speakers were Roger McKerlie, Founder and Managing Director of the Environmental Business Network, and Doug Wanstall, Head of Projects at Beyond Zero. Together, they delivered a fascinating presentation on the EBN Nature Restoration Programme, focusing particularly on their work at a site with the rather unromantic name of Bog Farm.

They explained how Bog Farm is being transformed into a demonstration of what can be achieved when land management is designed from the outset with multiple interconnected goals: producing food, timber and fibre; restoring nature; protecting water resources; and mitigating flooding. Their vision—showing how all these elements can work harmoniously together—offered attendees an inspiring look at what innovative, future‑focused environmental stewardship can achieve.

The event was warmly received, bringing together excellent food with forward‑thinking insight into nature restoration and sustainable land use.
