Alfred Smith (d. 1867)


A window in the lower tier of the south wall of the presbytery, second from east is dedicated to Alfred Smith.

In memory of Alfred Smith who died in 1867. One of a set of four windows showing the twelve Apostles. Clayton & Bell, 1897, comprising three lights, one figure in each, inscribed 'S. Johannes, S. Bartholomaeus, S. Philippus'. From east to west, John holds a chalice from which emerges a dragon, Bartholomew a knife and Philip a book and cross. Each figure beneath an architectural canopy. Two headlights, each with an angel bearing a scroll inscribed 'Alleluia, Alleluia'.
