Translation

By the side of DANIEL and FRANCES lying here beneath is laid their third Son ROBERT HILL: His virtues, which were pre-eminent in both his parents, Time alone stopped him from execising any longer. He lived 42 years, 9 months. Enough for himself, too little for his people. And met his final day, his friends, though not hopelessly grieving, on 19th November 1729. ?[ 13 December ] Lest the renown of a brother, desrving well of all, best of all of himself, be buried with his body, THOMAS, heir to half his fortune, [set up] this memorial, a monument and token of love.

Goodbye for ever brother, goodbye parents, You worshipped here once in constant honour, where the earth below holds in holy embrace. Let this spot long protect you passed away.
